The most common frustration in buying a diamond has nothing to do with price. It is being told that the thing you actually wanted — that shape, that carat, that grade — is a special order, and will take six weeks, and will cost more because it is unusual.
It is unusual because a shop window can only hold what a shop window can afford to have sitting there. A high-street retailer stocks the safe middle: a spread of rounds, a few ovals, the sizes that sell fastest. Anything outside that has to be ordered up the chain, which is slow, and each link in the chain charges for the trouble.
We hold over 2,000 certified stones in London, and through long-standing Hatton Garden relationships we can reach more than 20,000. Whatever you need, we can usually put it in front of you the same week.
Why the range is wider here
Stock is partly warehouse space, and partly who you can call.
Three generations in Hatton Garden means a wider network than a single supplier catalogue — so when the exact grade is not on our own shelf, it is often still reachable without a six-week special order.

What that means when you are actually shopping
- The shape you wanted, not the shape they had. Ovals, pears, marquise, emerald, radiant, cushion, Asscher, hexagonal — held in range, not ordered in.
- Grades you can compare properly. Because we hold depth in a spec, we can show you a G next to an E at the same carat and let you decide whether you can see the difference. Usually you cannot, and that is worth knowing before you pay for it.
- Size and spec more often ready. A deeper stock means the ring size you need is far more likely to already exist. See what is ready to ship.

Seeing the stone before you commit
Every stone above 0.30ct ships with its own IGI or GIA report and a 360° video of that individual diamond — the actual one, not a render of the grade. The report number is published on the product page so you can look it up on the laboratory's own database before you pay us anything.
If you would rather see it live, book a fifteen-minute video viewing and we will put it under a loupe on camera. Or come to 34 Greville Street and look at four of them on a tray, which is still the fastest way anyone has found to decide.
